What does the PLT do?
The Goolsby PLT sponsors and supports a variety of programs & events that help build community around the school. We always need volunteers! See below for the list of programs that need your help.
School & PLT Volunteer Opportunities
2009 - 20010
Parental involvement plays a huge roll in your child's success at school. Here we have listed several different opportunities for you to get involved. Some require very little time while others, such as heading a committee, may take more.
SPECIAL EVENTS (1 or 2 Hours per event)

YEARBOOK
· Providing pictures you’ve taken throughout the year. Email them to Deince Olsen at ddolsen@cox.net or drop them off to the front office in an envelope marked PLT / Yearbook Photos.
HOSPITALITY
· Baking or providing luncheon item
IN THE CLASS ROOM
· Room parent
· Class room volunteer – various needs
· Read to class
· Tutor during or after school
AROUND SCHOOL (1 hour +)
· Book Fairs
· Picture Day
· Bulletin Boards
· Hang up art work for Ms. Haas
· Assist Mrs. Canfield w/ music programs
ANNUAL FUNDRAISERS - ‘A Night in Venice’ & Fall Festival
· Solicit donations for silent auction
· Run a game booth
· Assist with decorations
· Assist with set-up & tear down
· Assist with food & drinks
· Assist with ticket sales
· Other

As you can imagine, it requires a lot of time to make the necessary copies and distribute them to all the classes. If this is an area you’d like to help with, please contact Donna. She would appreciate the extra pair of hands! J
CHIILDREN’S THEATRE PROGRAMS

Time commitment is 3:00 – 3:45pm on Tuesday and/or Friday…Your choice!
Duties include:
· Provide snacks for children

TRAFFIC DUTY FOR MORNING DROP-OFF LANE

Traffic duty is easy and requires showing up only 20 minutes earlier in the morning.
Time commitment is from 8:25am till 9:00am on any day of your choice. Not sure you want to commit to once every week? Pair up with a friend and alternate weeks! =)
Volunteer As Needed
There are many other opportunities to volunteer throughout the year. Most are on an as needed basis. Last year we implemented a new system where we send out an e-mail when a need arises. This makes it easier to communicate and helps give those the opportunity to get involved that want to. If you can help out great! Simply respond to the email you receive that you are interested and Jacquelyn will direct you accordingly.
